Dolly Parton expresses her passion for the stage by saying, “I wanna die on stage.”

Dolly Parton discusses her future retirement, her love for her husband, and her music.
Dolly Parton, renowned singer, and songwriter, has recently opened out about retirement rumors and the “only thing” that will make her want to slow down in life.

When she sat down with Greatest Hits Radio presenter Ken Bruce, she didn’t hold back.

There, when asked if she planned to retire, she said, “I would never retire.”

She even joked, “I’ll just hope I drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday, hopefully, one I’ve written.”

To paraphrase, “But anyway, that’s how I hope to go because we don’t have much of a choice in that.”

To quote Parton: “As long as I’m able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good, the only way that I would ever slow down would be for that reason.”

On the other hand, “But in the meantime, I’m going to make hay while the sun shines.”

Parton has been a mainstay of the music industry since 1967, and she has continued to make successful albums ever since.
