Guy Fieri was wrongly accused of drunk driving when he was a teenager. This was a big wake-up call for him.

He said that when he was 19 and in college, he was in a "fatality car accident."

Fieri said on the "Now What? With Brooke Shields" show, "I wasn't driving; I was in the backseat.

Unfortunately, I was with a group of guys, and I was drinking with one of them," he said. "We were messing around, but we were actually at the Las Vegas drag boat races.

Fieri, who was a student at the University of Nevada at the time, said that one of the guys had seen a cop. He had been drinking, so he got in his car and left.

We were being chased, and the car turned over, killing the person next to me. "It was horrible," said Fieri.

According to the "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" star, he and the other people in the crash had to be taken to the hospital by chopper.

"When I woke up in the hospital, I was handcuffed to a gurney, and everyone in the car said I was the driver," he said, adding that he and the other guys were all in the military.
