The UK and Ireland box office had its biggest week ever thanks to the movies "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer."

Comscore says that this past week was the best ever at the box office in the UK and Ireland. Between July 21 and 27, a total of £66,373,575 was made from all movies.

The accomplishment has been helped by the Barbenheimer phenomenon, in which Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer caught

To reach the milestone, this past week has passed the period of December 18–24, 2015, when tickets for The Force Awakens helped bring in a total of £58,618,154.

Barbie made an estimated £18.5M in its first weekend, and Oppenheimer made £10.9M.

 This was the first time that two movies started with more than £10M each in the UK.

Mission: Impossible was the third best movie over the past week. It made £2.8 million over the weekend, but Barbenheimer made the most money at the UK box office.
