Yellowstone actor Dave Annable explains why he’s appearing in Taylor Sheridan’s new television series, Special Ops: Lioness. Annable plays the role of Zoe Saldana’s spouse in the series, and it’s possible that Taylor Sheridan offered him the part as an apology for their previous working relationship.
Dave Annable, an actor, is now playing a leading role in the upcoming Taylor Sheridan thriller series Special Ops: Lioness. This is the actor’s fourth series to star in. Annabelle takes the role of Neil, who is the spouse of Joe (Zoe Saldana), who is a CIA agent working in a top-secret operation. The majority of the domestic and parental responsibilities fall on Neil’s shoulders. But it’s possible that Annable was cast in the part as a result of the way he was handled in Yellowstone. That’s right—in the very first episode, Sheridan put an end to his life.
It’s easy to forget that there was a fourth Dutton sibling now that we’re on Yellowstone season 5, as the show has moved on to other stories. There was also Lee (Annable), who was the eldest and John Dutton’s right-hand man. Kayce, who was played by Luke Grimes, Jamie, who was played by Wes Bentley, and Beth, who was played by Kelly Reilly were all members of the family. As a result of a conflict with Thomas Rainwater’s people, Lee was shot and murdered by Kayce, who was protecting his wife from her brother.
Annabele told Deadline that despite the fact that he was only in one episode of Yellowstone, he still went to cowboy camp in order to prepare for his role as a cast member on the show. “I went to cowboy camp for a three or four month experience of Yellowstone and being a cowboy,” Annabele said. And suddenly I found myself falling in love with everything. The ensemble was fantastic. Both Montana and Utah were wonderful to visit for me.
Annable said, “So when we were shooting my death scene, on the second or third take I was like, ‘I’m alright. This is just makeup. Like, you don’t have to kill me.’ I actually started an entire campaign to Save Dave Annable, not understanding what would subsequently happen with the show becoming the number one show on the planet.
Annable has stated the following in reference to being added to the cast of Special Ops: Lioness: “There might have been some version of an IOU in there, you know, his [Sheridan] feeling bad.” But I believe that I am the perfect person for the role. And, if you didn’t already know, Taylor has demonstrated time and time again that he is a master at assembling the perfect team of actors and technicians for each production. I am ecstatic beyond words. I’m really grateful.”
